How to Configure Advanced Inventory, Warehouse in Magento 2

Manage Inventory for Magento 2 will help store owners manage the quantities of multiple products very well. For each product, you will set up the advanced inventory such as the published quantity, the minimum and maximum quantity of the product.

The Advanced Inventory holds both a short and long configuration form for all products at your store. The configuration form is based on your need for stock management. Thus, if you find the stock management necessary for your product, let select the “Yes” option in the required field and the long form of Advanced Inventory Settings appears. The following guide will assist you to set up well.

  • Method#1: Exclude the Stock Management
  • Method#2: Include the Stock Management 

Method#1: Exclude the Stock Management

  • Go to Product > Catalog, and click on the Edit link in the Product Management.
  • On the sidebar, Advanced Settings > Advanced Inventory.
  • Forget the Use Config Settings checkbox blank to create the Manage Stock available. Select No in this field.
  • Insert the amount of the Minimum and Maximum Qty Provided in the Shopping Cart in a similar field.
  • In the Enable Qty Increment, select Yes if you want it, then insert the number of items for the incremental sale.
  • Click on the Save button at the upper-right corner of the page to save the changes.

Method#2: Include the Stock Management

  • Go to Product > Catalog, and click on the Edit link in the Product Management.
  • On the sidebar, Advanced Settings > Advanced Inventory.
  • Forget the Use Config Settings checkbox blank to create the Manage Stock available. select Yes in the field.
    • Insert the number of products in stock in the Qty field.
    • Insert the number of products out of stock in the Out-of-Stock Threshold.
    • Insert the quantity of the Minimum and Maximum Qty Provided in the Shopping Cart in a similar field.
  • In the Qty Uses Decimals field, select Yes if the number of your products may be a decimal number. Then, select Yes in the Many Boxes for Shipping field if you allow distributing the delivered products into various boxes.
  • Study the Backorders from CMS Block:
    • No Backorder - not allow any backorder if the product is not available means out-of-stock.
    • Allow Qty Below 0 - empowering the backorder even the number is less than 0
    • Allow Qty Below 0 and Notify Customer - permit backorders even the number is less than 0 and reports that customer can still put the order
  • In the Notify for Quantity Below, insert the quantity of the level that require to notify for the Quantity Below.
  • In the Enable Qty Increment, select Yes if you need it, then enter the number of items for the incremental sale. Assume that you offer the number 4, the required quantities in the cart are 4, 8, or 16.
  • Select In Stock in the Stock Availability field if the product is possible in stock.
  • Click on the Save button at the upper-right corner of the page to save the changes.
