Steps To Configure ElasticSearch In Magento 2

All installations in Magento 2 used elastic search as the catalog search solution. Elasticsearch provides search suggestions and recommendations on products in the catalog. Some other benefits of the elastic search, support for multiple languages, stop words, and synonyms. Elasticsearch is used by high-volume sites.

Configuration of Elasticsearch

  • In the Admin panel,click on the STORES > Settings > Configuration

  • In the sidebar, click on the CATALOG > catalog.

  • To expand, click on the Catalog Search.

  • In the catalogue search, clear the checkbox of Use system value in the search engine filed and select the version for the Elasticsearch.

  • To set the specific length for search query text, set both the Minimal query length and Maximum query length.
  • To set the specific number for popular search results, enter the specific number in the field of the Number of top search results to cache.
  • In the field of Enable EAV Indexer, enable or disable the Product EAV indexer by selecting the Yes or No option.
  • In the Autocomplete Limit, the default limit is 8 and you can set the specific number of the search result to show for search autocomplete.
  • In the field of Elasticsearch Server Hostname, set the hostname. The default name is localhost.
  • In the field of Elasticsearch Server Port, set the server port.
  • In the field of Elasticsearch Index Prefix, set the prefix to determine the index of elasticsearch.
  • In the field of Enable Elasticsearch HTTP AUTH, to enable the HTTP authentication for the suggestion of the username and password.
  • In the field of Elasticsearch Server Timeout, set the time duration.
  • Now click on the button of Test Connection, to check the connection.

  • Search Recommendation Count is used to set the number of recommendations. 
  • In the field of Show Result Count For Each Recommendation, choose the Yes option to display the results.

Save Configuration

  • After completing all the configuration for elasticsearch, click on the Save Config button.
