How to Configure Currency in Magento 2

Follow the following steps to configure Currency in Magento 2

  • Select the Allowed Currencies
  • Set the Import Connection
  • Complete the Scheduled Import Settings
  • Modify the currency symbols
  • Update Currency Rates

Select the Allowed Currencies

  • Go to Admin Panel, Stores > Settings > Configuration.
  • Under the General click on the Currency Setup.
  • Select the currency from the Base Currency drop-down.
  • Select the currency that you want to show in your store from the Default Display Currency dropdown.
  • Select the currencies you need for the payment in your store from the Allowed Currencies dropdown. You can select the multiple currencies hold down the Ctrl key and select multiple options.
  • To determine the scope o f the base currency, click on the Catalog.
  • Under Catalog open the catalog section.
  • click on the price.

Set the Import Connection

  • In the General section, click on the Currency Setup.
  • Click on the Fixer.io, enter the specific time duration time to inactive before the connection times out in the Connection Timeout in Seconds.

Complete the Scheduled Import Settings

  • In the Currency Setup, click on the Schedule Import Settings.
  • Select Yes from the Enable field.
  • Select service from the Service dropdown.
  • Set the start time to auto update the rate.
  • Set Frequency for updating the rate from the dropdown.
  • Enter the email address which will recieves the notification when there is any error in the import process. If you want to set more than one email then use comma to seperate them.
  • In the field of Error Email Sender, who will appear on the notification.
  • In the field of Error Email Template, set the template used for the error notification. 
  • Click on the Save Config button.

 

Modify the currency symbols

  • Go to Admin panel, click on the Stores > Currency > Currency Symbols.
  • click on the Use Standard to clear the checkbox.
  • Insert the Currency Symbol in the field of USD (US Dollar).

 

Update Currency Rates

  • Go to Admin Panel, click on the Stores > Currency > Currency Rates.
  • Select the Import Service, default is Fixer.io.
  • Click on the Save Currency Rates to save
