How to Make a CMS Page Rewrites in Magento 2

Besides Product and Category, CMS Page is one of three components store admins can redirect the companies to different link if there is any change on the CMS page. With the URL Rewrite tool from Magento 2, the URL of the content page or other page can be set for the rewrite.

In this topic, we learn how to make CMS page rewrites in the Magento Configuration.

Steps to create CMS Page Rewrites in Magento 2

These are the following steps you need to follow,

  • Add the Rewrite to CMS Page.
  • Update the Index on CMS Page.
  • Test the Results on CMS Page.

 

Step#1: Add the Rewrite

  • In the Admin Panel, click on the Marketing > SEO & Search > URL Rewrites.
  • Click on Add URL Rewrites.
  • From the dropdown menu of Create URL Rewrites, select the “For Category” choice.
  • In the page list that shows immediately, click on the page require to be redirected to edit.

  • On the URL Rewrite Information page,
  • Set the Store to implement the rewrites if essential.
  • In the Request Path section, enter the new URL key for the CMS page.
  • If you need to redirect to a different CMS page on your website, enter the relative path without a leading ahead slash.
  • If you require to redirect to a different CMS page on another site, insert the fully qualified URL of the target.
  • Convert Redirect Permanent(301) from Temporary(302).
  • Forget some description for the rewrite.

Step#2: Update the Changes in Index

  • In the Admin Panel, click on the System > Tools > Index Management.
  • Mark a Catalog URL Rewrites checkbox.
  • Select Reindex Data for the Action.
  • Submit to update the index.

Step#3: Check the Results

  • Check the rewrite to assure that it works well.
